Jamie Brierton

As a co-founding partner of the firm, Jamie practiced exclusively in the areas of probate, conservatorships, estate planning, trust and estate administration, and litigation for over 45 years.

His accolades throughout his career were numerous, including, but not limited to, his designation as a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization from 1991 until his retirement; his continuous selection to Super Lawyers beginning in 2009; and his AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell.

Jamie provided leadership and mentorship both within his firm and in the broader community. In addition to practicing law, he spent 20 years as a distinguished mediator, settling over 500 cases. His tenacity, professionalism, and calm demeanor earned the respect of clients and colleagues alike.

Throughout his career, Jamie published numerous articles and materials on various trust and estate issues and was instrumental in developing new procedures related to mediation and special needs trusts.

Jamie consistently gave back to his community, including serving on the Executive Committee of the Trusts and Estates Section of what is now the California Lawyers Association (formerly the State Bar of California) and serving as a Judge Pro Tem for the San Diego Probate Court.
