Jamie Brierton

As a co-founding partner of the firm, Jamie practiced exclusively in the areas of probate,

conservatorships, estate planning, trust and estate administration, and litigation for over 45 years.

His accolades during his career were numerous, including, but not limited to, his designation as a certified specialist in estate planning, trust, and probate law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization from 1991 until his retirement; his selection to Super Lawyers continuously commencing in 2009; and his AV Preeminent rating by Martindale – Hubbell.

Jamie provided leadership and mentorship both within his firm and the surrounding community. In addition to the practice of law, Jamie spent 20 years as a distinguished mediator, settling over 500 cases. His tenacity, professionalism, and calm demeanor engendered respect among clients and colleagues alike.

Throughout his career, Jamie published numerous articles and materials regarding various trust and estate issues and was instrumental in developing new procedures relating to mediation and special needs trusts.

Jamie continuously gave back to his community, including by serving on the Executive Committee of the Trusts and Estates Section of what is now the California Lawyers Association (it was then the California State Bar) and by serving as a Judge Pro Tem for the San Diego Probate Court.
